Primary Six pupils may seek Direct School Admission (DSA) into Commonwealth Secondary School before the Secondary One Posting Exercise. The DSA application for entry into Commonwealth Secondary School in 2027 will commence on 6 May 2026.
Students who are successfully admitted to the Commonwealth Secondary School via DSA are required to honour their commitment to the school, and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for during their four years in the school.
Admission Criteria
Category 1: Performing Arts - Band, Choir, Modern Dance, Indian Dance, Drama

Demonstrated passion and keen interest in the areas stated above.

School will consider attainment in related areas (for example: ballet).

Achievement in SYF presentation or equivalent, and past experiences will be an advantage.
Category 2: Environmental Science

Demonstrated passion and keen interest in the area stated above.

Served as NEA endorsed Environmental Champions

Achievements in environment-related competitions or equivalent will be an advantage.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a portfolio to showcase their involvement and past experiences in Environmental Science.
Category 3: Coding

Demonstrated passion and keen interest in the area stated above.

Achievements in related competitions or equivalent will be an advantage.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to submit a portfolio of their past projects or involvement in coding.
Category 4: Sports - Cross Country, Badminton, Netball (Girls), Basketball (Boys) & Soccer (Boys)

Demonstrated passion and keen interest in any of the areas stated above.

Applicants should preferably have represented their primary school or taken part in national or zonal competitions.
Category 5: Language - Tamil

Demonstrated passion and keen interest in the area stated above.

Achievement in Tamil language related competitions or equivalent will be an advantage.
Please note that meeting all the criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted/given an offer. Applicants who do not have prior experience may also apply. The school will assess applicants based on the selection criteria, which may include assessing the potential of the applicants.
Application Procedure
The DSA Application period for Primary 6 students is from 6 May 2026 to 2 Jun 2026. For more details, please refer to MOE website www.moe.gov.sg/dsa-sec
Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
